在公牛隊努力6年，3度入選明星賽的巴特勒（Jimmy Butler）昨天被交易到灰狼隊，他今天打破沉默，首度在個人Instagram上發表離開心情，他以一張穿著公牛球衣的背影照和所有球迷告白，留台中抽脂手術拉皮名醫推薦下「芝加哥，我愛你」的感性字句。

「芝加哥，我該說什麼呢？」巴特勒開頭就坦言，寫下這篇道別文的心情非常掙扎，因為這6年來，芝加哥就像自己的家鄉，每位接觸的人都曾是自己生命一份子，讓他成長茁壯，有持續進步的動力，「感謝整個公牛球團和藍斯道夫（Reinsdorf）家族，讓我2011年有機會投入這項我熱愛的運動，我永遠不會忘記選秀會中選，還有第一次上場的感覺。」
巴特勒末段也特別和球迷致謝，並感謝整座城市的支持，削骨風險讓他有「家的感覺」；最後他特別強調，感謝幕後的工作者，儘管這些工作人員得到的關注不多，卻都是真正的明星成員。
之後受訪，他坦言被交易感覺並不好受，名字曾和騎士隊、塞爾蒂克隊連結的他說：「很多人告訴我可能發生什麼事，但我不想將注意力放在這。」他提到，沒有怨懟任何人，「我只是不喜歡事情處理的方式，但沒關係。」他強調自己仍會做好本拉皮費用分，努力為球隊贏下比賽。
27歲的巴特勒上季不論平均得分23.3分、6籃板和5.3助攻都寫下生涯最佳，如今將和昨天公牛在第16順位選上的新人佩頓（Justin Patton）前往明尼蘇達，公牛則是換來「灌籃王」拉文（Zach LaVine）、鄧恩（Kris Dunn）及選秀會上第7順位被選上的馬卡南（Lauri Markkanen）。
轉戰灰狼，巴特勒將和前教頭錫柏杜（Tom Thibodeau）再度合作；錫柏杜曾在公牛執掌兵符5季，2015年被炒魷魚後在去年成為灰狼總教練。
巴特勒表示，期待和錫柏杜聚首，「我說過很多次我有多喜歡他、尊敬他的作為，在我的菜鳥年，他為我做了很多，能和這樣的傢伙再合作是件好事，他知道如何贏球，我也知道他的風格，我想我能適應很好。」
